The Council of Medical Colleges (CMC) today launched A Best Practice Guide for continuous practice improvement for doctors.
The Best Practice Guide is in its final stages and due for release early 2016.

The 2015 CMC Executive Committee are Dr Rosie Edwards from the RANZCP, Dr Michael Dray from the RCPA, and Associate Professor Mark Lane from the RACP. Dr Derek Sherwood will continue his term as Chair of CMC.
CMC held its Annual General Meeting on 29 May 2014.
The Council of Medical Colleges of New Zealand strongly supports reducing the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) maximum limit from the current 0.08 g/100mL to 0.05 g/100mL (or lower) for all drivers over the age of 20 years. This statement is based on a large body of evidence that this will reduce alcohol related road traffic crashes and fatalities and align New Zealand’s policy with Australia and many European nations.
CMC hosted a forum in March to discuss extended nursing roles and physician assistants and the how these roles work in the multidisciplinary team. An official position statement has since been developed.
CMC has released a position paper on medical generalist / specialist roles and postgraduate training in New Zealand.
The Council of Medical Colleges made a submission to Health Workforce New Zealand on behalf of eight Member Colleges.
